Other causes of anaphylaxis

Common causes of anaphylaxis include food, insect stings and medication but there are other allergens which may lead to a severe allergic reaction.

Less common causes of anaphylaxis include mammalian meat, latex or exercise-induced anaphylaxis.

Occasionally the trigger is not known and is not able to be identified through medical tests and examinations. This is called idiopathic anaphylaxis.
