Kiwifruit allergy

If you have kiwifruit allergy it is important to know that kiwifruit is sometimes used as a tenderiser for meat. Remember to always read food labels and ask about allergen content if unsure. It is important to declare your allergy
when you are eating out and ordering food. Less common allergies, such as kiwifruit allergy, need to be declared too. Kiwifruit can also be used in ‘mocktails’ and cocktails, so remember to declare your allergy when ordering both food and drinks!
You can use the A&AA chef card to help you when declaring your allergy. Just print it out, fill it in and keep a couple of copies in your purse or wallet. You may wish to laminate the chef card so that it stays in good condition. Hand it over when you are ordering and ask for it to be returned with your food order.
