Hi, nudie here.

We would like to give this community a little more information on our recent recall. We understand the risks that allergens, including cross-contamination can pose, and we are concerned about the allergic reactions reported. We take this issue very seriously & wholeheartedly apologise to anyone who was affected by this issue. We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience or stress caused to you and your families.

We can confirm we had an isolated manufacturing issue at the external site that makes our “nudie brekkie” products. As a result of this, ONE batch of our dairy-free Mixed Berry brekkie product (only those with the best before date of 24/03/17) tested positive for dairy.

To be clear, this site makes no other nudie products, such as our coconut yoghurts, dairy yoghurts or juices.

In addition, once the problem was identified we re-tested all past and present batches and flavours of nudie brekkie, and confirm only this one batch was affected.  

Once we were alerted to this issue, we completed an immediate investigation together with our external manufacturer & found the source of this issue.

In short, there was an anomaly in the filling process that lead to some dairy milk being transferred into our non-dairy products. We have put new filling procedures, measures & safety interlocks in place to prevent this from happening again, including not processing milk while any non-dairy product is being manufactured. In addition, all non-dairy products moving forward, in addition to current on-site quality assurance testing, will be tested by an independent laboratory prior to release.  

In collaboration with FSANZ we initiated a recall of the affected batch of product, and worked hard to alert all consumers to the recall. We published the notice in a state-based local paper, made a public statement on our Facebook page & placed the official notice on both our brand & corporate websites.

To show our support of Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia, we have chosen to make a small contribution to assist in the sharing of this information & support those affected by allergies.
