Toowoomba events for Food Allergy Week - June 2024

As part of our commitment to raising awareness of allergy management, as well as educating those living with allergic disease in regional communities, we are coming to Toowoomba in June!

We will be there to educate, as well as to listen and learn, so that we can better advocate for issues affecting those living with allergies in regional areas.

Whether you are an industry partner, health professional, Food Tech student, parent/carer of someone with allergies or living with allergies yourself, we have an event for you!

Toowoomba Awareness Breakfast

Thursday 6 June from 7.30 - 9.30am

Join us for a delicious breakfast and a panel discussion with food allergy experts, to raise awareness and funds for Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia. This event is open to industry and community members.

Free Community Information Session

Thursday 6 June from 6.00 - 7.30pm

Join us for an evening information session with Maria Said AM, CEO of Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia, covering best practice allergy management in babies and children and the role of childcare and schools in everyday allergy management. This event open to parents and carers of children with allergies in the Toowoomba region, and people working in childcare and schools.

Child Youth Health Nurses Education Update

Wednesday 5 June from 3.00 to 4.00pm

This session with Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia CEO Maria Said AM will offer Child Youth Health nurses a chance to update their knowledge about best practice infant feeding to help prevent food allergy, pathways to diagnosing food allergy vs other health concerns for babies, and treatment for allergy, including emergency management. There will be time for questions and discussion. 

This event is hosted by the Toowoomba Child Youth Health Nurses Team.

GP Podcast Recording for Darling Downs West Moreton PHN

Maria Said AM will join Dr Tanusha Ramaloo to record a podcast for GPs as part of the 'GPs in a Pod' Podcast Series. The series provides best practice clinical information and guidelines relevant to today's GP.
