Allergen update: Sanitarium – Weet-Bix Flavours range – Peanut

Peanut added to ‘May contain’ statement on Weet-Bix Flavours range

Sanitarium have asked us to communicate an important announcement for Weet-Bix Flavours fans who are allergic to peanut.

The allergen status of Weet-Bix Cranberry & Coconut, Weet-Bix Honey & Golden Oats and Weet-Bix Multi-Grain products has been updated to reflect a new risk of cross contamination with peanut.

These Weet-Bix products now include the allergen statement “May contain: lupin, milk, peanut, sesame, soy, tree nuts”. The previous allergen statement was “May contain: lupin, milk, sesame, soy, tree nuts”. The updated allergen status is a result of a change to where one of the ingredients is sourced.

Look for the yellow allergen alert label on packs arriving in Australia and New Zealand supermarkets from April 2025.

Be aware that there may be products on the shelves at the same time that have different allergen statements for peanut. Some may NOT have a ”may contain peanut” and some may have an allergen statement, ”may contain peanut”.  Allergen alert flashes have been included on front and side of pack for all products that may contain this new allergen to help consumers identify this change:

Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia reminder: ALWAYS read label information on every packaged food (even if you buy more than one of the same packaged food) EVERY time you purchase food or plan to eat (even if you have eaten the same product before).
