Kiwifruit allergy

For people with a confirmed kiwifruit allergy, remember to always read food labels but be careful as kiwifruit is not one of Australia’s common food allergens that must always be declared on packaged food and drink labels such as egg, wheat and peanut. If you are unsure about the allergen content, contact the manufacturer.

Always tell food service staff about your kiwifruit allergy when eating out or ordering food online. Some examples of where kiwifruit is used in food and drinks include, but not limited to:

  • In ‘mocktails’ and cocktails
  • Meat rub/tenderiser
  • Fruit salad
  • Juices and smoothies
  • Baked goods such as cakes
