Allergen Update - Arnott's Chocolate Blocks and Bars - 7 May 2019
Arnott’s Biscuits has provided the following information to Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia
Arnott’s Chocolate Blocks and Bars
Arnott’s Biscuits wishes to advise Allergy and Anaphylaxis Australia of the introduction of Arnott’s Chocolate Blocks and Bars inspired by some our iconic biscuits including, Iced VoVo, Wagon Wheels, Gingernut, Scotch Finger and Jatz.
This range of products combines biscuit pieces which are baked in our bakeries with a special moulding chocolate which is different to the normal chocolate we use when coating our biscuits. Arnott’s chocolate blocks and bars are made in a factory that makes nut products. As such the chocolate used to make these blocks and bars contains a small amount of peanut and tree nuts. The blocks and bars are labelled to reflect this fact.
The Arnott’s Chocolate range is currently available through Coles, Independent retailers and major Petrol & Convenience stores.
The release of Arnott’s Chocolate blocks and bars is independent of our traditional biscuit range. The allergen status of our biscuits has not changed.
As always, we advise all consumers to read the label carefully. Our consumer contact centre (1800 24 24 92) has also been alerted to the release of this new product and will be able to advise consumers should they contact us by phone.
We would appreciate the support of Allergy and Anaphylaxis Australia in informing its members of this development.
Yours Sincerely
Michael Depalo
