Australian researchers have been looking at whether guidelines that advise parents to introduce common allergens within the first 12 months of a baby’s life might decrease prevalence of peanut allergy.
The guidelines recommend introducing the common allergens to babies at around 6 months of age, but not before 4 months. The researchers at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute found a 16% decrease in peanut allergy among infants after the introduction of the guidelines. after the introduction of the guidelines.
