Idiopathic anaphylaxis

Anaphylaxis can occur after exposure to an allergen to which a person is allergic. Common triggers of anaphylaxis include food, bites and stings from insects and medication. Other triggers, which are less common, include mammalian meat, latex or exercise-induced anaphylaxis.

Occasionally the trigger cannot be identified, despite extensive investigation. This is called idiopathic anaphylaxis.
